Mononoke Spirit Lamp

Mononoke is the old Japanese word for a spirit that will not settle. This piece takes that idea literally: a masked figure half-formed out of the resin, more suggestion than sculpture, the way a yokai is described in folklore rather than drawn.

Cool light rises through the block and catches the mask first, leaving the lower body to fade into the dark.

Poured, cured and finished by hand in small batches. Every piece carries its own pattern of bubbles and colour, so no two are identical.
